SCENIC WORK
WOOD GRAIN EFFECTS
Wood grain effects all made with layers of tones applied with rubber rocker. Emulsions and Rosco paints used.















BRICK EFFECT
Brick effects created by applying layer of plaster as a base, then spongeing and dry brushing layers. Painted with emulsion paints.











RUST EFFECT
Rust Effect. Spongeing warm red and yellow tones. Emulsion paints used.
Peeling effect created with latex paint and rough texture created with plaster.










PROP MAKING
Wood turning a spindle on lathe. Made in two parts and glued together.
2 part silicone mould made from this spindle. Fibreglass master mould. Cast 60 spindles with expanding foam.
Gun cast with jesmonite and black dye.
Paper flowers cut and superglued onto wire.















WOOD STAINING
General outdoor wood stain mixed with black emulsion to create uneven worn stain effect. Dirtied down further with concentrated drips of stain and paint.
Slats and back of display unit stained with walnut stain, applied with brush and corners wiped with rag.









CONCRETE
Dry brushing and spongeing onto lino with emulsion and rosco paints. Idenden and gravel sometimes mixed in to create texture.








GENERAL PAINTING AND DECORATING
Various basic painting and wallpapering work. All painting with emulsions and glazed with Flints glaze.












LARGE SCALE PAINTING
Gridding/scaling up from original A5 image, painted with emulsion paints onto board.








FINE ART SKILLS
Cricket piece is painted with mixture of acrylic, emulsion and rosco paints, watered down to imitate watercolour. On canvas.
Other mediums involve oil pastel, digital and pencil.
